How To Save Electricity in Refrigerator

- The amount of electricity consumed by frost free type refrigerators

- Keep the food items closed in the fridge. The humidity produced by
open food items will make the compressor to work more.
- More electricity is consumed if ice gets accumulated. So defrost the
freezer occasionally.
- Electricity is used most from six to ten during night. If the fridge
is switched off during this peek time at least for an hour you
can save electricity. The things inside the fridge won’t get damaged
by switching it off for an hour.
- The condenser coil in the backside is used to carry the heat
within the refrigerator while cooling the inside. So in order to get
air circulation the fridge must be kept at a distance of about 15cm
from the walls on the back and sides. The condenser coil should also
be kept dust free.
- The food items should be placed on the different racks depending on
how much it should be cool.
- Make sure that the door of the refrigerator is closed airtight.
- Don’t keep the food items within the refrigerator when it is hot.
- Most of the people think of what to take from the refrigerator only
after opening it. It will loss a lot of energy.
- Don’t keep the fridge open for a long time. Don’t open it several times also- especially during peek hours.
- Don’t keep too much of things inside the refrigerator. It will cause the
fridge not to be completely closed. It will cause energy loss.
